A lot of people tried to log into their Comcast accounts recently only to find that they could not connect. Yup, looked like Comcast hacked. Due to this situation and other network security situations just like it, a lot of people and companies are now taking more time on their network security configurations and making sure no hackers are able to break in and perform havok in their network or website.

But how does network security work? This is where I am clueless. I know that all computer networks need some kind of security installed but a lot of people, including myself, have no idea even where to begin with network security.

I know that from time to time the thought of identity theft crosses my mind and I wonder if it will ever happen to me. Scary stuff. What if I had been a member when the whole Comcast hacked network security situation happened. Scary!
