Early this morning, the Coast Guard managed to find five sailors from the Regata De Amigos race. The race competitors became missing after their boat, competing in the Regata De Amigos, capsized in the Gulf of Mexico. According to the news, there seems to be another sailor that is still missing and he is identified as Roger Stone who acts as the boat safety officer.

After not responding to a radio check this morning, it had become apparent that something was wrong with the boat, Cynthia Woods, which had a crew of six people.

The five members found were pulled into a Coast Guard helicopter a number of miles off Freeport Texas and had drifted about five miles from their boat. All are doing fine and happy to be safe and rescued.

The Regata De Amigos is a race that extends over 600 miles and goes from Galveston to Veracruz, Mexico.

This is great news. I’m glad they were rescued safely. That could have a been a real tragedy if one or more were hurt. Lets all be grateful for everyday we have.
