Do you know what day it is? It’s National Donut Day! Today is the day to forget your weight loss plan and get yourself a doughnut. For some people, you may even dare to say that national doughnut day is the best day of the year! People on weight loss plans especially because we all need a break from the weight loss plan. Everyone needs a day to cheat a bit and I vote for today!

It seems like Krispy Kreme and a few independent places like Stan’s Donuts in Los Angeles are the only places, at least that I can find, that is participating in the “holiday”. In participating Krispy Kreme locations, they are giving away one free donut today to celebrate. C’mon Dunkin’ Donuts! Get with the program. Your customers need to forget their weight loss plan too and get free donuts!

I live in Canada and up here we have the donut place called Tim Horton’s. Not sure if they are participating in this or if it is just a USA thing. But I vote that Canada gets in on the action too since us Canadians — especially Canadians on weight loss plans — need a break and a free donut!
